IndieGoGo Announces Collaboration with Fractured Atlas to Provide Fiscal Sponsorship for Any Creative Project
Fundraising Website Joins Forces with Fractured Atlas to Offer Double the Services without Double the Fees

Berkeley, California, July 15, 2010-IndieGoGo.com, an online funding organization, announced today a collaboration with Fractured Atlas' fiscal sponsorship program. This relationship will provide an integrated fiscal sponsorship platform to non-commercial projects looking for financial support within the creative arts community. IndieGoGo and Fractured Atlas will provide creative projects or organizations (in any discipline) with the opportunity to use collaborative fundraising and audience building tools with some benefits of a tax exempt 501c-3 organization, as provided by the Fractured Atlas Fiscal Sponsorship program.

Starting today, IndieGoGo will offer its members access to Fractured Atlas's national fiscal sponsorship program. As an official partner, Fractured Atlas and its services will be introduced to over 5,000 current project owners already using IndieGoGo in 120 countries. Fractured Atlas brings expertise gained from fiscally sponsoring over 3,000 creative projects over the program's lifetime. Project owners interested in Fractured Atlas's fiscal sponsorship pay an annual membership fee, accessing all of the organization's services. Film Director Paul Bright raves, "What had been a commercial venture, barely scraping together funds to make each film, is now an artistic endeavor with broad support from the community. The application process for sponsored status, liability insurance, and partnering with IndieGoGo to collect donations is straightforward, totally streamlined, and hassle-free."

The IndieGoGo collaboration with Fractured Atlas offers an extended range of services to customers, who will only have to pay one fee for the use of both organizations' tools. "Working with Fractured Atlas lets any non commercial creative project owner offer tax deductions to their funders without paying double the fees or spending double the time," said IndieGoGo CEO Slava Rubin. "We are excited to be the first company in the world that offers this unique opportunity."

Fractured Atlas's program enables any creative project owner to solicit funds from a wide range of sources-most notably government, foundation, corporate, individual and other philanthropic entities-that give only to nonprofit organizations with IRS tax-exempt status. This established program, coupled with IndieGoGo's suite of online fundraising and audience-engagement tools, will provide artists with more opportunities to fund projects. "We are excited to be working with IndieGoGo on this initiative." said Adam Huttler, Fractured Atlas's Executive Director. "Crowdsourcing is one of the most important trends in fundraising today, and I'm thrilled that our fiscally sponsored artists will have an opportunity to leverage these tools."
