Welcome to KINDRED.

When a group of Indigenous people is abducted by aliens, Warrun leads a breathtaking escape from their Earth-orbiting spaceship, only to learn the shattering truth of his captors' real origins.

Why are we making it?

It's the first Australian Sci-Fi film to star Indigenous people. And in these days of remakes, reruns and rehashing old ideas, we're really excited to be the first.

The Cast:

The role of Warrun will be played by the exciting Damion Hunter who grew up acting alongside Sam Worthington.

The role of Alkira, his sister, will be played by the talented Maurial Spearim.

Our 5-foot Aliens will be played by Kristy Schwind and Laura Ohrman.

How much will it cost?

We need about 20 grand. It's the bare minimum to get this highly tehnical project started, shot, edited, and completed. (It would've cost far more had so many talented people not got so excited!) The key part is the $8,000 to cover the VFX / CGI team's time while KINDRED takes some of their time away from paid jobs (and that's just a fraction of what they'd normally charge). Here's the breakdown:

Set Design: $2,000           
Alien Costumes: $2,000                                
Harness Rigging for Zero-Gravity Sequence: $1,000     
Camera Hire: $3,000          
VFX / CGI: $8,000 
Rewarding Contributors: $2,000

= $18,000 + 10% safety net ($1,800)

= $19,800
